In a recent interview Katsuya Eguchi from Nintendo talked about the different things in life that motivated him to create the Animal Crossing series. Family, friends, relationships and society inspired him to create the game because he felt lonely when he moved to Kyoto. His hometown, Chiba, isn’t really close to Kyoto and at moments like these he discovered the importance of family and friends in his life.
Another important feature in the new Animal Crossing: City Folk game for Nintendo’s Wii is holiday seasons. Special days like Eastern, Halloween and Christmas will get new special events in AC:CC. At Eastern you’ll have to go out and look for eggs and there will also be a travelling circus in the game. Players can go to concerts and celebrate holidays together over Nintendo WiFi Connection.

Yesterday during its E3 press conference Nintendo announced Animal Crossing: City Folk for Wii. Today Nintendo of America released some more information on their new Wii-title. The game is due to come out November 16th in the US. The WiiSpeak microphone, also announced yesterday, will cost $29.99 and will be sold separately. Buying the WiiSpeak microphone is actually not a must to play Animal Crossing: City Folk, but it will certainly come in handy if you plan on playing online via Nintendo WiFi Connection.

During its E3 2008 press conference, Nintendo released the first details on its upcoming Animal Crossing game for the Wii. The full name of the game is Animal Crossing: City Folk and it’s planned for a release this year. Just like all previous Animal Crossing games, City Folk has a few mission objectives but you’re still free to decide what you want to do in your own little village. Exploring the town will be a lot more exciting and holiday seasons will be even more fun than in the last Animal Crossing video games.
Communicating will be very important in Animal Crossing: City Folk. You can send letters to other gamers int he post office, and you can communicate with Wii Speak. Wii Speak is a microphone that needs to be placed on the Wii’s sensorbar and it allows you and everyone else in your home to communicate with other players around the world. Just like Animal Crossing: Wild World, this Wii-game will open its gates for visitors from other villages. Last but not least there’s off course the possibility to change the looks of your character to your personal taste. In the Beauty Salon you can even give your player the mask of one of your Mii-characters. More details coming soon.

Animal Crossing: Wild World is still an extremely popular Nintendo DS-game, and Nintendo thinks that a Revolution-version of the popular Animal Crossing-game would be a good idea. Animal Crossing Wii gives the developers a few challenges. First of all they will have to find something to fit the game to the Revolution’s hardware. Second obstacle is transforming the Nintendo WiFi Connection options of ACWW to the online capabilities of the Wii. Eguchi, producer of Animal Crossing Revolution, said the following:
“Much like the conversion from the console Animal Crossing onto DS, we are now exploring how to bring what we have developed in Wild World onto Revolution. This time it is about bringing the world we’ve set up on DS over to the console world of the Revolution.”
